Education

Education is the process by which learners acquire knowledge, skills, techniques, values, attitudes, beliefs, and practices from an existing culture and experience the society through the processes of teaching, learning, sharing and interacting. Education methods include training, teaching, story telling, collaborative research and direct observation. Education is used to transform the experience of schooling, providing learners with skills that are relevant to their world and helping them to become independent citizens.

Today, the classroom has been taken over by the informal education system of training and teaching, facilitated by social media, technology and informal learning process. In a more traditional classroom setting, students are given textbooks, notes and assignments on reading, writing and spelling and are taught what they already know. Technology has provided the tools for the informal education system by making online testing more convenient, cheaper and less time consuming. The formal education system of teachers and school systems provides training in different areas like science, geography, history, English and other subjects through formal courses and programs.

Education takes place in families, in groups, communities, the workplace and communities. Education takes place in public and private schools. Education has various forms and takes different forms. It can be formal education, non-formal education, direct instruction, informal learning, online education, vocational education and training. Education is defined as a process that develops the individual’s capacity to learn.
