Education is the dissemination of knowledge, the acquiring of skills, knowledge, values, attitudes, beliefs, and habits, through different types of channels. Education includes training, teaching, learning, research and supervised research. Education involves all the processes involving people at all stages of their lives. Education develops individuals’ intellectual, social, economic and emotional development. Education enables individuals to meet their needs as well as those of society.
There are two broad approaches to education, namely the liberal approach and the restrictive approach. The liberal approach places greater emphasis on interpersonal learning and development, as contrasted with formal classroom training and instruction. The restrictive approach empowers government and schools to set high standards of learning. These educational approaches are reflected in the differences in the approaches to teaching, research, learning and teaching.
There are various reasons why school districts in the United States spend a large amount of money for improving their educational systems. In urban centers, low-income children often suffer from physical and mental health disorders. The presence of drugs and other harmful substance abuse also threaten the academic future of such students. To ensure that these students receive a better education and lead healthy, productive lives, the school district has to invest significantly in its educational systems.
